Cockroaches are germ carriers, nocturnal in nature, omnivorous but also active at day time in highly infested areas. They multiply at alarming rates.
They shed skin which transfer germs in our habitat. Their droppings too are harmful; the otheeca of German cockroach contains 30 to 40 eggs and can achieve maturity in less than six weeks.
The warm and humid condition is favorable for cockroaches but they can live in cold areas, like freezers/ chillers and hot area pipes, behind gas stoves etc.
German and brown banded cockroaches are found in food processing units/kitchens, hotels, sweet marts etc and American cockroaches are found in gutters, manholes and ducts.

Do's
- Keep kitchen dry and clean, don’t keep milk bags, wrappers of chocolate in kitchen.
- Clean trolleys and shelf regularly.
- Crush the otheeca of cockroaches as pesticides are less effective over it.
- Fill the cracks, gaps in tiles, behind kitchen plat form area as it is ideal for breeding of cockroaches.
- Keep nani traps and outlets closed with mesh cover on it.
- If you have pets in home, do not leave food bowls out over night and keep kennel area clean.
- Dispose of garbage in sealed bags and in garbage can with lids.
- Dispose garbage daily and keep dry and clean dust bin and the place around where dust bins are kept.
Dont's
- Do not wash out the gel dots applied in corners, in trolleys and in infested area.
- Don’t use the market ready tins for spray over the gel and treated area.
